Hence, even in the age of streaming and torrenting playing and ripping your favorite DVDs still requires some effort. Luckily, Debian provides a relatively simple way to circumvent these measurements so you can backup all your nice DVDs from the 90's and 00's!
The libdvd-pkg package provides required libraries for playing and ripping video DVDs with a media player such as VLC SMplayer, Totem and others. In addition, it automates the process of downloading source files, compiling them, and installing the binary packages
